Catalina's Theatrical Talents Proven by Proof
Catalina High School Drama recently presented Proof by David Auburn, a challenging contemporary play about family, grief, mental illness, and the complicated line between brilliance and instability. The production was built largely through student effort, with drama students contributing not only as actors, but also as designers, technicians, builders, and backstage crew. For many students, this was their first experience working on a serious full-length play, and the process gave them a chance to practice discipline, collaboration, problem-solving, and artistic risk-taking in a real production setting. The final performances reflected the students’ growth, commitment, and ability to take on mature material with focus and care.National Literacy Month
The Catalina library is a vibrant, welcoming and inclusive environment where students can access an updated collection of books and materials curated by a licensed Media Specialist. Our space includes brand-new high-top tables, flexible furniture, a collaboration table, a green screen recording room, and different seating options for our teens to feel comfortable and inspired. We have a game area as well as various hands-on crafts, puzzles, legos, and origami. Our library aides work hard on creating fun displays to highlight our various themes. Students often get lessons on research skills, digital literacy skills, book talks and more. Mostly we are a space where students feel safe and supported!
