Greetings Catalina Families and Community,

It is with great excitement that I write this letter of introduction as the newly appointed principal of Catalina High School. I am humbled and enthusiastic to serve as the Principal and to join the Catalina Trojans community. This will be my second year to serve as Catalina administration. In the 21-22 school year I served in the capacity of Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Instruction. I will join a strong team of Catalina administrators to include Dr. Kelly Bristow, Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction and Mr. Michael Beck, Assistant Principal of Building and Operations. This year we will focus on establishing a culture of academic excellence to ensure all our students/scholars are academically prepared to excel in their goals beyond high school.

I would like to briefly share with you my background in education. I have taught in grades K-12 and have been an educator for 25 plus years. My area of expertise is in curriculum and instruction, having developed curriculum in all content areas. My educational career has been in Tucson Unified School District exclusively. I have a strong foundation from which I will administer toward my vision of academic excellence. I believe that all our student/scholars are capable of achieving academic excellence.

To ensure that we have an academically successful year will require commitment and involvement from all stakeholders to include parents/guardians, students, educators and community members. My vision is to establish a culture of academic excellence. Our academic success will be dependent on the fidelity of our roles from each Catalina community member.

Attendance, on time daily is key to ensure academic excellence. We ask that you ensure that students/scholars are present every day, on time, prepared to engage in learning and with appropriate behavior. Consistent communication with teachers is important to support students. Our teachers are prepared to deliver academically rigorous learning every day.

I look forward to serving the Catalina community and working with all stakeholders this year. To reiterate our focus this year is to establish a culture of academic excellence. Please do not hesitate to reach out should you have any questions or concerns. I look forward to meeting you at one of the Walk-thru registration events. I know we will have an AMAZING year together.
